DAY 1 HO CHI MINH CITY TO DALAT

This morning you will be met at your Saigon hotel and transferred to the airport for your flight to the cooler climate of the central highlands and the former French hill station of Dalat. The French founded Dalat at the beginning of the 20th century as a retreat from Saigon's constant heat. Dalat's altitude made for an agreeable climate and its mountainous alpine terrain found favour with homesick French colonials and upwardly aspiring Vietnamese. Today, Dalat is a city of great local character and faded French elegance. After checking in to your hotel, you can start your own exploration of the area.

DAY 2 DALAT

Today enjoy some free time in Dalat's colourful market, stroll or cycle around Dalat's central lake, admire the French colonial architecture and take in the cool climate of this charming town. (B)

DAY 3 DALAT TO NHA TRANG

This morning commence the journey to the picturesque coastal town of Nha Trang. Your journey to Nha Trang takes you over the spectacular Ngoan Muc Pass and past the Poklongarai Cham Towers near Phan Rang. The Cham people occupied southern and central Vietnam prior to being overrun by the Viet people from the north in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The towers at Poklongarai are one of several remnants of the former Cham Kingdom in the area. Arrive in Nha Trang late in the afternoon with time for a refreshing swim in the South China Sea. (B)
