Phan Thiet

Just a three hour drive from Saigon, Phan Thiet and its beach at Mui Ne offer a great break from the hustle and bustle of the big city - one of the favourite beach getaways amongst ex-pats in Saigon. The town itself retains much of its old world charm, and the colourful harbour, home to Phan Thiet's large fishing fleet, is a popular sight with visitors. Travellers would not want to miss a visit to the oldest Cham tower in Vietnam, which lies on the road between Phan Thiet and Mui Ne. In recent years, the 21km stretch of golden sand along Mui Ne has witnessed a transformation as numerous resorts have opened along the beach front. That said, the area of Phan Tiet is certainly not overdeveloped and provides the perfect scene for total relaxation. Considered to be one of the dryest areas in Vietnam, Phan Thiet has an average temperature of around 26 degrees celsius.
