On this unique journey to the capital of Laos and the remote north of Laos and Thailand, a highlight is the Mekong River journey and your stay in Luang Prabang.

Day 1: This afternoon discover elegant Wat Sisaket and Wat Haw Pha Kaew. Later visit That Luang, the most important of Laos’ many temples, and the grand
Patuxai Monument, the capital’s equivelant to the French Arc de Triomphe.

Day 2: Fly to Luang Prabang – Laos’ most beautiful and engaging city. Serene Wat Xieng Thong and Wat Mai await. In the afternoon set out for a nearby village, then
take part in a Lao-style cooking class.

Days 3–4: This morning discover the Royal Palace, then take the rest of the day at leisure. Rise at dawn for the spectacle of Buddhist monks collecting alms. Follow
this with a visit to the Kuang Si Falls.

Days 5–6: Travel up the Mekong by boat and stop for the night at an atmospheric ecolodge in a jungle setting. Arrive at the Thai border and be transferred to
your comfortable hotel.

Days 7–8: Visit the fascinating Hall of Opium, then travel to the border town of Mae Sai, next to Myanmar (Burma). Travel through verdant terrain past hilltribe villages, ending your day at the award-winning Lisu Lodge.

Day 9: This morning enjoy an ox-cart ride through surrounding countryside, then transfer two-hours to Chiang Mai.

Inclusions: 8 nights accommodation with breakfast daily, four lunches and three dinners, private touring (boat trip and cooking class are ‘join-in’ experiences), transport including domestic flight, entrance fees, local English-speaking
guide, arrival transfer on tour start date and departure transfer on tour finish date.
