Only two hours by slow boat from Luang Prabang and overlooking the mighty Mekong, the Kamu Lodge comprises comfortable and smart tent-style accommodation amidst a unique verdant jungle setting. The lodge is run by Kamu minority people who will ensure you have a genuine experience of this picturesque,
untouched region of Laos.
Day 1: Depart Luang Prabang by boat and enjoy a leisurely cruise up the mighty Mekong. At the confluence
of the Nam Ou and Mekong Rivers you will visit the famous Pak Ou caves filled with thousands of Buddha
effigies following centuries old traditions. Continue on to Kamu Lodge, featuring tent-style accommodation
designed to blend in with the surrounding environment. Each of the 20 canvas tents feature thatched rooves, and is decorated with bamboo and wooden furniture and has an attached private bathroom with shower plus toilet and solar-powered warm water and electricity. A stay here offers an exclusive, ecological experience in a traditional and simple setting. Enjoy a sumptuous Lao-style lunch. You will then take part in some local activities such as rice planting, gold panning and traditional fishing.
Day 2: After breakfast spend the morning experiencing the Kamu Lodge’s unique surrounding environment,
before returning to Luang Prabang by boat.
