A hilly city overlooking the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, Chongqing is well known as being a major port for the start or end of many Yangtze cruises.

It is popularly known as the 'city of fog' as winter brings with it much foggy weather, whilst in summer it is known as one of the 'three furnaces of China' as temperatures can reach up to 43 degrees celsius.
